Terms of use

1. What this is

Karavan is a pre-ordering service for the Sandford International School canteen, run by Karavan Coffee’s Sandford branch (“Karavan”). It is built and operated by Sandford students as a CAS project. There are no service fees, no markups and no advertising. Prices are the counter prices.

2. Who may use it

Students, teachers and staff of Sandford International School with a school account, and canteen staff an admin has invited. If you are under 18, using the app means a parent or guardian is fine with you buying food from the canteen with telebirr, exactly as they would be at the counter.

3. Your account

You sign in with your school email or Google account. Your display name is taken from the school email and cannot be changed in the app. Keep your sign-in codes to yourself; anything ordered from your account is your order. Tell an admin at once if you think someone else is using it.

4. Ordering and paying

An order is confirmed only when its telebirr payment has been verified against the public receipt. Unpaid orders expire after the time shown on the payment screen and can be cancelled by you until then. Paid orders cannot be cancelled in the app.

One telebirr transaction pays for exactly one order. Entering a transaction number that is not yours, reusing one, or uploading an edited screenshot is fraud. It is reported to the school and Karavan and ends your access.

5. Collecting

Show the pickup code on your ticket at the counter, at or after the pickup time you chose. Orders not collected by closing time are disposed of and not refunded. Food is prepared by Karavan; allergies and dietary questions go to the counter, not the app.

6. Availability

The app can be down for maintenance, connectivity or a paused kitchen. When automatic verification is unavailable, the screenshot path lets staff confirm payments by hand. Neither the students who run the app nor Karavan promise uninterrupted service; the counter always works.

7. Changes

When these terms change in substance, the version number at the top changes and you are asked to accept again at your next sign-in.
